IN LOVING MEMORY (1929-2009)
I realised that there are alot of things that i’ve yet to tell you but never had the chance..
Thank You for my Daddy who spoils his little princess always..
Thank You for taking care of me when my parents went to work..
Thank You for all the evening walks and chit chats even though i was too young to comprehend..
Thank You for your maggi curry special that i could never find elsewhere..
Thank You for all the nutritious meals you prepared for me and my brothers..
and most of all, Sorry for all that this mischievious girl did wrong..
I LOVE YOU Ah Po.. God bless..

If someone were to ask me what was the most important lesson learnt in OBGYN, its not on how to conduct deliveries much less controlled cord traction.
Xan-di feels that the most important thing to know about a patient in Labor Room is whether the membranes are intact. “Why?” you ask..
because, xan-di has observed on two occasions SROM occured which sent substantial amounts of liquor (ie. fetal urine and if you’re lucky, meconium) flying across the room and landing on unsuspecting victims who by some stroke of “luck” positioned themselves directly infront of the birth passage.
important? YOU DECIDE..
Its been a week since i’ve stepped into the paeds ward.. although its a refreshing change from orthopedic where everything is so mechanical and metalic, i must say its not my cup of tea.. before entering medical school, i always wanted to be a paediatrician if i every got my MBBS but now, i feel that sick kids just makes me sad.. in the other wards i often see grown ups crying for whatever reason, but i feel that kids crying even if they are just throwing a tantrum really nibbles at my heart..
once in the past week i visited an adult ward and was unaccustomed to see so many huge patients.. lol..
so, to survive paeds:
1. prepare lots of bribes (eg. sweets, lollies, stickers, rattles, toys)
2. practice cute faces and smiles
p/s highly anticipating OBGYN =D

Strawberry generation is a term coined in Taiwan to designate people born in the 1980s (between 1981 and 1991).
The general perception is that these people, having grown in a protected environment and with economic prosperity, are less able to withstand pressure or to do hard work. The term is linked to the fact that persons from this generation are generally supposed to have grown in a protected environment (e.g. being overprotected by their parents), just as strawberries are grown in greenhouses and command a high price compared to other fruits.

the other day during clinical school posting, Dr Loh called us strawberry boys and girls.. cos he described our generation as being pampered, and that we’re all beautiful and plump people.. that describes a strawberry on the outlook but when you squish it, its all destroyed.. which means that we’re fragile people and we’re not used to hardships.. SOOOO TRUE.. hehe..
then someone asked him how does he describe his generation, he said proudly “mine ah, we cactus loh.. we all very ugly very short but we can stand hard times..”
back in his time, things were much harder, food was scarce and money was limited.. so to all fellow strawberries, be thankful for all that we have.. and for those who made it possible for us *quoted from Dr Loh*
thanks mommy and daddy.. muax!!
There’s two sides to this post.. one super good.. and one very bad..
