this heartbreaking and eye-opener movie, based on a true story, began with the scene of a middle aged woman picking up bits and pieces of human bones and burying it. there were no tears shed but the anguish on her face gave way that those bones once held the flesh of a loved one. condemmed to death for an act she didn’t commit.

the story soon changed to a scene where a French journalist seeks help to repair his car when this aunt approached him with her story. the story of soraya..

a story of culture which some of us fortunate ones may not agree with but it is these woman’s lives we’re watching for real. everyday they become slaves to their husbands be it house chores or sexually. most of them are raped and forced to carry the child. the story of Soraya may have happened more than 2 decades ago, but the practice is still going strong in those countries where shariah law is being practiced obsessively. a 13 year old girl was stoned to death in October after reporting to the authorities that she has been raped. with the verdict of committing adultry.

most of us are lucky enough not to be in that kind of community, but even in the modern day there are discrimination towards woman. open your eyes, and you can see, no matter how hard you try not to.
truly a must watch movie!!
p/s in no way this post is implying anything discriminating against men, most of the men i know, are simply wonderful to me XD love you daddy, brothers and kawan-kawans..

Such a horrible movie it was…but it’s just a reality which exist in this government and fortunately i has never seen stoning as nearby. if not…ofcourse i escaped from this dark country, as now i m going to go.
I wish all the world know that we’re not these devils…we’re just the iranian people who have no right from this short life.
but i’m still hopefull
Thanks
