Strawberry generation is a term coined in Taiwan to designate people born in the 1980s (between 1981 and 1991).
The general perception is that these people, having grown in a protected environment and with economic prosperity, are less able to withstand pressure or to do hard work. The term is linked to the fact that persons from this generation are generally supposed to have grown in a protected environment (e.g. being overprotected by their parents), just as strawberries are grown in greenhouses and command a high price compared to other fruits.

the other day during clinical school posting, Dr Loh called us strawberry boys and girls.. cos he described our generation as being pampered, and that we’re all beautiful and plump people.. that describes a strawberry on the outlook but when you squish it, its all destroyed.. which means that we’re fragile people and we’re not used to hardships.. SOOOO TRUE.. hehe..
then someone asked him how does he describe his generation, he said proudly “mine ah, we cactus loh.. we all very ugly very short but we can stand hard times..”
back in his time, things were much harder, food was scarce and money was limited.. so to all fellow strawberries, be thankful for all that we have.. and for those who made it possible for us *quoted from Dr Loh*
thanks mommy and daddy.. muax!!
